What is the difference between the 15mm and the 19mm?

15mm and 19mm refer to the internal diameter (size across opening) of the tube.  15mm tubes are sometimes referred to as slim tubes (we call ours Slim-Bor™), and 19mm tubes are referred to as standard tubes (or our Standard-Bor™).

Which diameter should I choose?

The internal diameter of the tubing is designed to work with the delivery of air pressure from the machine to the mask. The CPAP settings of your specific machine are determined by the machine type and your prescribing physician or sleep lab specialist. You should follow those recommendations and verify which internal diameter is recommended by your sleep specialist to ensure proper air flow. Many of the newer CPAP machines can be adjusted to accommodate both the standard 19mm and the slim 15mm tubing, but you should consult your physician or sleep lab specialist to confirm which tubing size to use.

Is the tube compatible with my machine?

Both AltaResp and AltaFlex 15mm and 19mm tubes are compatible with most machines on the market, including ResMed, Phillips, F&P, and others.  Consult your physician or sleep lab specialist to confirm which tubing  to use with your machine.

How often should I replace my tubing?

Industry guidelines recommend replacing your CPAP tube every 90 days or at any sign of leaking.

How do I clean and dry the tube?

We recommend you clean and dry the tube daily with mild dish soap. Other methods of cleaning are not recommended and could affect the performance of the product.

What is the best way to attach and detach the tube from my machine and mask?

AltaResp and AltaFlex tubes have latex-free soft-touch cuffed ends with an ergonomic grip. Always use the cuff to attach and detach your tube from the machine. Never pull on the tube.

Can I get other lengths of tubing?

Both diameters of AltaResp and AltaFlex tubing are only available in standard 6-foot lengths.
